What an unforgettable experience for our 8th graders as they explored the history, government, and culture of our nation's capital! Students kicked off the trip by exploring the Smithsonian's Air & Space Museum, National Museum of Natural History, and National Museum of American History. They wrapped up the day with visits to the Jefferson Memorial, Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. The learning continued with visits to Arlington National Cemetery, the Smithsonian National Zoo, the National Gallery of Art, and several iconic memorials, including the World War II Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, and Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Students had the unique opportunity to tour the U.S. Capitol, the Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court before exploring the National Museum of African American History and Culture. They finished the trip with a fun and memorable Ghost Tour through historic Alexandria. From government and history to science, art, and culture, this trip brought classroom learning to life while creating memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to everyone who helped make this incredible experience possible!
